Adventures in sewing!

French after English:

Because I just can't stay stuck with one hobby...

In addition of cooking and writing, I also sew sometimes (I sewed a dress for this year Japan Expo, I will post pictures later) and I wanted to do something nice for someone as equally nice, the delicious, kind and gorgeous Elyra-Coacalina

I wanted something fresh and summery and "nautical" so I went for light cottonwith with blue print, and dark blue with white print.

It took me, hmm, I would say 10 hours, but I could have gone faster if my sewing machine hadn't been a total and utter meanie with me once I had finished the top! (mean, mean sewing machine critters! Go bother someone else! )

The bodice is fulled lined, the back and waist elasticated, and the big bow (a request Elyra was very insistent on) can be taken off if one want to go for a simpler look.

(If you want a dress, or a cape, or something as I am digging out all my old patterns.. Just say it, we may be able towork something together! )

Bref, une jolie robe d'été sur le thème nautique pour la tout aussi jolie Elyra-Coacalina

Elle a insisté pour avoir le gros nœud derrière (et non, je ne ferais pas de jeu de mot pourri là dessus), mais il s'enlève si on veut un style plus simple.
Entièrement en coton, entièrement faite de mes blanches mains, corsage doublé, dos élastiqué, jupe à pans pour porter seule ou avec un jupon!

Elle m'a pris une dizaine d'heures mais je serais allée plus vite si ma vilaine machine n'avait pas été attaqué par des gremlins (si, si, les gremlins de machine, ça existe!)

Bref, je me remet à la couture, si vous avez des idées, dites les moi, on pourra peut être s'arranger!
